2. Virtual Assistant
With the boom in online business expected to continue becoming a Virtual Assistant job will only grow.
This work from home job is just going to provide more and more opportunities for people.
Glorified secretary? Think bigger:
- Respond to emails
- Process orders and refunds
- Web design
- WordPress maintenance
- Graphic design
- Editing proofreading
- Content research
- Keyword research
- Product launches
And the list can go on.
Any experience both on and offline can contribute to you becoming a Virtual Assistant VA for short.
Learning as you go can also be a great as well so don’t let lack of experience hold you back.
When you start as a VA you need to consider things like your business structure, what services you are going to offer clients, your pricing structure and how you are going to create your offer.
It’s important that you understand you are charging per hour so you are basically trading time for money. So it’s important to consider that this means you are a subcontractor and think about how this is going to affect your tax situation.
You won’t be entitled to sick days or paid vacation.
And all your expenses like web hosting and office expenses.
Pay varies for VA jobs it can be an hourly rate or a fixed rate for specific tasks that need to get done. Make sure you don’t undercharge for your services as this would make you and the person you are working for not happy!

If you are interested in Pinterest and already know what you are doing or want to learn how about becoming a Pinterest VA again this can involve lots of different tasks.
You can specify exactly what you want to do on Pinterest like:

- Schedule pins

And lots more this are is only going to grow as more people find Pinterest especially now it’s going to become a public company.
Advertisers will want VA to maintain their presence on the platform.

There is lots of work if you can master Facebook Ads for businesses. Again this is another growing area of VA work with companies seeing the benefits of advertising on Facebook. This is especially great for small local business as well as an online business.

If you are a great writer you can up your earning potential with great projects to increase your pay packet.
You can choose to write online or offline for magazines, websites or your own blog there is so much scope for work if you are good that you won’t have difficulty finding work.
When you start Freelance writing you first need
- Samples of your work – figure out where your strengths are market wise and write up some samples as examples of that market. For example, if you want to write for a blog has some blog post examples ready to go.
- Make sure you have the most appropriate software usually Microsoft word on your computer
- Look for work on online Job boards like Fiverr, Elance, freelancer for example.
6. Teaching English as a Second Language
If English is your first language there are thousands of websites that are looking for native English speakers to become online tutors for children internationally.
Most sites require a degree but it doesn’t need to be in English.
This site is a Chinese based company for children 4- 12 and you don’t need to know anything about Chinese- VIPKID
CAMBLY is another great site this one is worldwide teaching English with conversation-based learning. There are lots more companies that you can try too.
7. Online Bookkeeper
You can start as a bookkeeper either for yourself or a company remotely.
